Dr. Sabahi completed his fellowship training in Adult Rheumatology at Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., following his Internal Medicine residency at Howard University Hospital. His professional background also includes rheumatology research at the MedStar Research Institute and VA Washington Medical Center. His academic work has addressed important issues in rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular and metabolic disease, vitamin D deficiency, psoriatic arthritis, Behçet disease, and osteoporosis and fracture risk.
His training has also included advanced education in musculoskeletal ultrasound and interventional techniques, including specialized courses for rheumatologists and ultrasound-guided cadaver-based training.
A Different Approach to Musculoskeletal and Regenerative Care
At Regenera Health, Dr. Sabahi’s philosophy is based on looking at the patient as a whole rather than focusing exclusively on a diagnosis or a single painful joint.
Patients with chronic inflammatory and autoimmune disorders may experience problems that extend beyond the underlying disease itself. Pain, inflammation, degenerative changes, reduced mobility, muscle weakness, tendon and joint problems, changes in body composition, and the physical effects of chronic disease can all influence a patient’s ability to function and quality of life.
Regenera Health brings together Dr. Sabahi’s background in rheumatology with a broader approach to regenerative and restorative medicine. When appropriate, the goal is to identify opportunities to support tissue health, improve function, manage musculoskeletal symptoms, and help patients maintain an active and fulfilling lifestyle.
Regenerative Medicine for the Individual Patient
Regenerative medicine is an evolving field, and Dr. Sabahi believes that it should be approached thoughtfully and responsibly. Not every patient or condition is appropriate for a regenerative procedure, and treatment decisions should be based on the individual’s diagnosis, clinical findings, medical history, goals, and the available evidence.
At Regenera Health, regenerative approaches are incorporated as part of an individualized treatment strategy rather than as a replacement for appropriate conventional medical care.
The objective is simple: to help patients move better, function better, and feel better while addressing the factors that contribute to their musculoskeletal limitations.
Aesthetic Medicine for Patients with Autoimmune Disease
An additional and distinctive component of Regenera Health is the integration of aesthetic medicine into the care of selected patients with autoimmune and chronic inflammatory conditions.
Patients living with autoimmune disease may experience changes in their appearance and tissue quality related to aging, chronic inflammation, weight changes, medications, reduced physical activity, or the disease itself. These changes can have a meaningful impact on confidence, self-image, and quality of life.
Dr. Sabahi believes that caring for patients should not stop at controlling laboratory values or reducing disease activity. For appropriate patients, attention to appearance, skin and soft-tissue health, and overall physical well-being can be an important part of comprehensive care.
At Regenera Health, aesthetic treatments are therefore considered within the context of the patient’s overall medical condition. The objective is not simply cosmetic enhancement, but to provide thoughtful, individualized aesthetic care while taking into account the patient’s autoimmune disease, medications, immune status, and overall health.
This combination of rheumatology, regenerative medicine, musculoskeletal care, and selected aesthetic medicine creates an approach that is designed around the individual patient rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment model.
